Sunday surgery

Recently I have noticed that Pepe has a bit of a bald spot ...
In the pic there is her white crest, and the baldness is above. We've not been taking her collar off, but I don't think it's from that irritating her as she's never been excessively scratching ? Anyway now we keep the collar off when she is inside.

Do puppies ever lose fur before their grown-up coat comes thru ?

When in doubt always call the vet, if anything it will make you feel better knowing what it is. However, my guess is she's just senstive there. pugs have very sensitive skin, Herbie has a bald patch around where his halter fits him and he's always wearing that, but it's nothing to be worried about.

Pepe, you are so cute!

When I was a puppy I got a random bald spot on my side. Momma showed it to the vet and he said I had some kind of little skin mite! He gave me a cream, and my fur grew back in really fast! :)

what a cutie you are, Pepe! My Meiby is a black pug with some "blonde" spots. That's why her breeder decided not to show her but they said it would probably grow out within the first year or so. So apparently they will lose the puppy coat and grow an adult coat but I don't know if balding is normal or not.
