Crufts 2009

This weekend it was Crufts, but it wasn't show on TV. Last year there was a programme on about pedigree dogs saying that they are inbred and have congenital defects. More recently there was a programme on about puppy farms/ pet shops which showed "that in many cases, the paperwork is inadequate to prove a puppy's pedigree, or that it has been properly vaccinated." These places were selling sick puppies, and ones with docked tails which is illegal here in the UK.

> So isn't it better to get a pedigree dog from an accredited breeder? We put a lot of thought into getting Pepe (heck, she was expensive!), we didn't get her from the most convenient closest breeder, who over the course of our phone calls I ended up getting a bad feeling about, like she didn't care if I bought a puppy from her because there would be plenty of other people who would...

Anyway sadly a Pug didn't win this year, the prize went to a Sealyham Terrier, which looks like this:

Ah, a pug should always win, it's simply the best breed. I agree breeders and rescue groups (where I got both Herbie and Ricky) are the best bet when getting pedigree.
